Behavior Skills Training (BST) is one of the most powerful tools BCBAs have for changing adult behavior, but most educators have never experienced it used well. This session teaches school-based BCBAs how to adapt BST to busy classrooms, paraprofessional teams, and multidisciplinary environments so staff can confidently implement behavioral strategies with accuracy and consistency.

Coaching is where real behavior change happens for adults. While training introduces a skill, coaching ensures it becomes fluent, consistent, and embedded in everyday classroom practice. This session teaches BCBAs how to design and deliver meaningful coaching cycles built on observation, supportive feedback, and ongoing refinement.

Participants will learn how to structure short, efficient coaching interactions; gather implementation data; identify strengths to reinforce; and provide corrective feedback that feels safe, actionable, and collaborative. The session also addresses how to prioritize which skills to coach, schedule observations realistically, and communicate coaching plans with administrators and teachers.

BCBAs will leave with coaching cycle templates, feedback scripts, observation tools, and strategies for building trust and ownership so that staff feel supported, not evaluated, throughout the behavior change process.

How to measure, monitor, and improve staff implementation.

Fidelity is the bridge between a well-designed behavior plan and meaningful student outcomes. Yet in real school environments, fidelity often breaks down due to unclear expectations, overwhelming procedures, insufficient training, or competing staff demands. This session gives BCBAs a practical, supportive framework for measuring, strengthening, and sustaining fidelity across classrooms.

Participants will learn how to create simple, actionable fidelity checklists; build observation tools that align with BIP components; and identify common implementation barriers before they escalate. The session emphasizes collaborative problem-solving and trauma-informed coaching, helping educators feel supported rather than scrutinized. Participants will also learn how to use fidelity data to refine interventions, strengthen systems, and celebrate progress.

BCBAs will leave with ready-to-use tools, fidelity templates, troubleshooting flowcharts, and scripts for engaging staff in the fidelity-building process without adding stress or pressure.

OBM and motivational strategies for deep culture change.

Sustainable behavior change in schools requires more than strong interventions, it requires leadership. BCBAs working in public schools must navigate competing initiatives, limited resources, staff burnout, and shifting expectations while still building buy-in and driving long-term improvement. This session teaches BCBAs how to lead change effectively, using principles from ABA, OBM, trauma-informed practice, and systems-level consultation.

Participants will learn how to identify root causes of resistance, frame behavior strategies in ways that resonate with educators, and use reinforcement, modeling, and shared decision-making to strengthen adoption. The session highlights practical strategies for sustaining skill use over time, including structured follow-up, visible progress monitoring, and collaborative team norms.

BCBAs will leave with concrete leadership tools, resistance-response scripts, buy-in builders, and guidance for supporting schoolwide culture change that lasts beyond individual trainings or coaching cycles.
